Pázmány ITK Graduation Ceremony

2022.07.14.
On 13 July, 40 of our students received their diplomas from Dr. Kristóf Iván, Dean of Pázmány ITK, at the Graduation Ceremony, which was also attended by the Honorable Dr. Géza Kuminetz, Rector of Pázmány University.

18 of our current graduates graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or Molecular Bionics Engineering, 21 graduated with a Master's degree in Computer Science Engineering, Info-Bionics Engineering or Medical Biotechnology, and the first student of our Biological Data Analysis postgraduate course has also just received his diploma.
The ceremony was also followed by a large number of guests present in person and via live streaming.

In their speeches, both the Rector and the Dean emphasized the importance of further intellectual and spiritual development (Lifelong Learning).
Dr Kuminetz noted that, in addition to the development of artificial intelligence, it is very important to develop human natural intelligence in an integrated way, i.e. to strive for a mature personality, since the fruit of this educational and self-educational work is a human being made in the image of God. The Rector also spoke about the importance of the elements of holistic intelligence (5Q): the intelligence quotient (IQ), emotional intelligence (EQ), political intelligence (PQ), resilience quotient (RQ) and moral intelligence (MQ). On the subject of professional development, the Dean mentioned some of the milestones of the leaps and bounds that have taken place over the last 20 years at the interface of computer science and biology, which are opening the way for new diagnostic and therapeutic tools and services, opening the door to additional devices and services, leading to exciting research and development in the field of medical rehabilitation devices even in our Faculty. Dr. Kristóf Iván also highlighted that many Pázmány ITK students can be found in the academic sector, companies and start-ups in the fields of informatics, biotechnology and medical technology. In their farewell speeches, the students thanked the lecturers, the staff of the Academic Administrations Office and underlined the importance of the ITK community.
