Orientation Week: Your Gateway to University Life  

 

First of all; welcome to Pázmány ITK!  

As you embark on this exciting journey into higher education, Orientation Week serves as your initiation into the vibrant and dynamic world of university life. Designed to ease your transition and set you up for success, the Orientation Week is packed with activities, information sessions, and opportunities to connect with fellow students, faculty, and staff. Whether you are a freshman, exchange student, or international student, this week lays the foundation for your academic and personal growth throughout your time at PPKE. 

In 2024, the orientation week will be held between 2nd September and 6th September. The Orientation Week is a compulsory part of the semester. Please arrange your arrival so that you are able to participate at the obligatory events of the week. 

 

KEY COMPONENTS OF THE WEEK

  • Welcome Sessions: Get to know university leadership, learn about the university's mission and values, and engage in intercultural workshops to kickstart your academic journey. The official International Opening Ceremony will also take place during the week. 
  • Academic Advising and Info Sessions: Meet academic advisors who will guide you through the processes of registration, course selection, degree requirements, IT systems, and resources available to you. Also, you will gain detailed insight into the academic aspects of your selected study program. Attend workshops on various topics to ensure a smooth transition into university life. 
  • Practicalities:  You will go through the official enrollment process at the University. Our mentors will help you with the arrangement of practicalities like your student ID, Hungarian phone card and bank account, public transport tickets and many more.   
  • Campus Tour and Student Services: Familiarize yourself with campus facilities, supporting offices, lecture halls and labs, library, dining options, and recreational areas. Explore the various support services offered by the university, such as mentor services, mental health services, career guidance, and student organizations. 
  • Social Events: From icebreaker activities to themed parties, the Orientation Week provides many opportunities to meet new friends, bond with classmates, and participate in different activities organized by the faculty’s student mentor community 

 

PLANNED SCHEDULE 

  • Autumn semester: 2-6 September 2024 
  • Spring semester: 3-7 February 2025 

Students are expected to arrive by the first day of the Orientation Week, to participate in all of the programs. All the programs of the Orientation Week are free of charge.
