Allonic: from Pázmány ITK to the forefront of the world

2026.02.11.

It started as a university project and became an international breakthrough in robotics. Benedek Tasi, a former student of our Faculty, and his team developed a bio-inspired manufacturing technology that could fundamentally transform robotics. Allonic now works with the world's leading engineers, while its roots go back to the creative, experimental environment of Pázmány ITK.

Starting at Pázmány ITK, Allonic has reached the forefront of international robotics and has now attracted the attention of the world's leading technology players. One of the startup's founders, Benedek Tasi, was still a student at ITK when he began his work that has now resulted in billions of forints in investment, international partnerships, and a real industrial breakthrough.

You can read about the startup and its successes on the Sifted website!

The story of Allonic is a good example of the approach that characterizes Pázmány ITK: students can work on real, complex problems during their university years, in an interdisciplinary environment, with freedom to conduct research and engineering work. Development projects combining robotics, materials science, and biology-inspired ideas were not born from a ready-made recipe but from experimentation, teamwork, and the courage to think beyond the academic framework.

We are particularly proud that the foundations acquired at ITK—engineering thinking, depth of scientific knowledge, and practical problem solving—lead to innovations that take shape not only in research results but also in working technologies and businesses. Allonic's success confirms that at Pázmány ITK, talent, community, and professional excellence can produce tangible results with international impact.

We warmly congratulate the team and wish them continued success!
