From Research to Spin-Off Companies

In 2025, the Faculty’s spin-off ecosystem demonstrated that ideas born in the laboratory can develop into competitive technologies and market-ready companies. The clearest example is Allonic, which moved from an ITK student project to a globally visible robotics venture, attracting major international attention for its bio-inspired manufacturing platform and securing a record-scale pre-seed round that supports its next phase of industrial development. Its progress illustrates the Faculty’s broader ability to transform research into practical innovation with international reach.

Alongside Allonic, several other spin-offs continued to strengthen the Faculty’s innovation portfolio. Companies such as Cytocast, Dermus, OptoForce, Streamnovation and other ITK-linked ventures demonstrate the diversity of our translational research, spanning biotech, medical imaging, sensing, quantum chemistry software, and industrial AI applications. Some of these companies are already active on the global market, while others are in promising growth phases, but all share the same origin: research conducted at Pázmány ITK and supported by its technology-transfer ecosystem. Together, these spin-offs show that the Faculty is not only a place of scientific discovery, but also a fertile environment for creating companies with real-world impact.
