The summer school was first held in 1993 and has since been hosted at a different location each year. Last year, participants met in Szeged, while this year Timișoara welcomed the students and lecturers. The program primarily brings together students and lecturers from universities in Central and Eastern Europe. This year's summer school included participants from Romania, Serbia, Croatia, and Hungary, with most of the Hungarian students coming from the University of Debrecen.
During the approximately ten-day event, mornings were dedicated to professional lectures, while in the afternoons students worked on project assignments in small groups under the guidance of faculty mentors. The professional program was complemented by sightseeing and an excursion, offering participants opportunities for networking and exchanging experiences.
At the end of the summer school, the teams presented their completed projects, summarizing the results of their joint work. Participation in the event provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen international professional connections and to gain insight into current research directions in computer vision and image processing.
