“As Erasmus students studying in France, we were invited to a student meeting held at the Hungarian Embassy in Paris in February 2026. It was great to speak Hungarian again and hear about others’ experiences at their universities and what they are studying. The students were all very friendly, and thanks to our shared experiences, we quickly found common ground. To our surprise, we also met several old acquaintances.
The event began with a panel discussion featuring the Ambassador and members of the embassy staff, who shared insights into diplomatic life, their responsibilities, and their vocation. We also gained an introduction to the work of the Liszt Institute, which organises cultural events for Hungarians living in Paris.

This was followed by a joint film screening and a discussion with the Ambassador and the film director about the importance of the communities around us. The event concluded with a wine tasting, where we sampled Hungarian Furmint wines as part of the ‘Furmint February’ initiative, guided by a sommelier.
The following day, we wrapped up our trip with sightseeing: we walked along the Seine to the Eiffel Tower, visited the Museum of Fine Arts in Paris, and admired the city at night from the top of the Arc de Triomphe.
We had a wonderful time and are grateful for the invitation, which made this trip possible!”
