“This year, within the framework of the Pharmaceutical Research and Development course, we once again had the pleasure of visiting the Budapest facilities of Béres Pharmaceuticals.

As always, we were welcomed in an exceptionally warm and friendly manner. Dr Klára Béres delivered an engaging and personal presentation, sharing insights into the early years of the company, the life and work of its inventor and founder, József Béres, and the story behind the creation of Béres Drops in 1972. She also offered a broader overview of the company’s development and its current position.
What began as a joint-stock company with a single product has grown into a business that now manufactures and distributes 179 products across domestic and international markets, employing more than 500 people. The company’s ethos and strong sense of mission stand as a remarkable example.
Following the introductory presentation, we had the opportunity to visit the Béres Museum as well as the R&D laboratories with the students. The visit sparked a number of questions, which were answered with great openness and detail by the company’s staff. During the discussion, it was also highlighted that the company welcomes both interns completing their professional practice and recent graduates seeking career opportunities. They also noted that those interested in summer internships are advised to submit their applications as early as January.
