One of the cornerstones of this educational partnership is that Kristóf Karacs, a lecturer at our Faculty, has once again been invited to teach at Seoul National University's International Summer Program. As he did last year, he is leading the course Understanding of Machine Learning for international students, further strengthening Pázmány ITK's international academic presence.
Research ties were also reinforced through a professional visit by researcher Anna Gelencsér-Horváth, whose trip aimed to explore potential collaborations connected to research carried out at the Artificial Intelligence Lab of the Hungarian Bionic Vision Centre. At SNU, she met with the heads of two research groups working in computer vision to discuss possible joint research. Together with Kristóf Karacs, co-head of the lab, and with the support of the Hungarian embassy's science and technology attaché, she also held discussions with the leaders of two research groups at KAIST's artificial intelligence research centre. The connections established during the visit will continue through online consultations.
The visit of Andrea Mihálffy, Head of the Faculty's International Relations Office, was aimed at further developing institutional cooperation between the two universities. During her trip, she held discussions with staff from the university's central Office of Global Affairs, as well as with colleagues from the College of Engineering responsible for international mobility, at both faculty and departmental level. The talks focused on expanding student and staff mobility, broadening international cooperation, and exchanging best practices between the two institutions. One of the most significant outcomes of her visit was opening up new avenues for collaboration with Seoul National University College of Medicine. During discussions with the Faculty's leadership, an agreement was also reached that, in the coming academic year, leaders of the College of Medicine will visit Pázmány ITK in person to learn about our laboratories, research infrastructure, and academic programs. The planned visit aims to lay the groundwork for new joint educational and research collaborations.
The events of recent weeks clearly demonstrate that the strategic partnership between Pázmány ITK and Seoul National University is not confined to institutional agreements alone, but is taking shape through active professional cooperation in education, research, and the development of international relations. These emerging connections promise to open the door to further joint projects and mobility opportunities ahead.
