Aim of the contest
The contest aims to present and document the Faculty's educational and research activities, events, community life, traditions, lasting values, and everyday life.
Entries can be submitted in three categories, as follows:
- Research and excellence (e.g. work in the laboratories, results of development work, etc.)
- Building and education (e.g.: Faculty building, classrooms, photos taken during lectures, etc.)
- Community events and spiritual life (e.g.: events organised by the Student Union or the Mentor Community, graduation ceremonies, social events, pilgrimages, etc.)
Conditions for participation
- Image quality: original images with a resolution of at least 5 megapixels (2562x1936) are accepted. File type: JPEG, saved at the highest possible image quality. Please aim for one of the standard aspect ratios 2/3, 4/3, or 1/1. For lower-resolution images, we cannot guarantee A4 enlargement for the exhibition.
- Post-processing: only basic image enhancements (brightness, contrast, colour balance, gradation curve, colour/saturation) are accepted when digitally processing images. It is permitted to remove technical errors, scratches, cropping, cropping of distracting parts of the image, and changes in image orientation. No watermarks, logos, or dates may be included in the image.
- Number of entries: a maximum of 5 entries in black and white or colour can be submitted. In the case of a photo series (maximum 3 photos), the photo series will be considered as one entry.
- Submission: The photos should be submitted digitally to the following email address: jubileum@itk.ppke.hu.
- The completed registration form must be attached to the application. Identification of the photos should be done as follows: name of the applicant_title of the photo_category of the entry (e.g.: John Smith_Evening in the lab_1).
- PPKE ITK will make a selection of photos and have the paper images made and arranged for the exhibition.
Participation in the contest
The contest is open to students, alumni, lecturers, researchers and staff of the PPKE ITK.
Submission of the photos
Deadline for submission of the photos: 30 June 2023.
Evaluation and awarding of the contest
The applications will be evaluated by a jury of Pázmány ITK staff. The Faculty will organise a photo exhibition of the selected photos as part of the Pázmány ITK 25 program series.
The exhibited pictures will also be posted on the Faculty's Facebook page. The public prize will be awarded to the picture receiving the highest number of likes.
During the exhibition, the photos will be evaluated by a jury complemented by professionals.
Based on the jury's decision, the first prize per category will be 50,000 HUF, the second prize 30,000 HUF, and the third prize 25,000 HUF. There will also be an audience award of HUF 20,000 per category. The award ceremony will take place during Pázmány Day.
Copyright and moral rights, liability:
Only photos that are solely and exclusively the work of the applicant and do not infringe on the moral rights of any third party may be entered.
The contestant consents to the recording and processing of his/her data by the terms of the contest and to the publication of his/her name in connection with the contest.
By applying, the contestant gives his/her explicit consent to the exhibition of his/her work in the photo exhibition, if selected, to the use of the material by PPKE ITK for promotional, decorative, and illustrative purposes, and the publication of the photos in the written and electronic media reporting about the contest. Digitally supplied photos may be reproduced for the above purposes. By applying, the contestant expressly waives any claim to fees for the above uses.
By submitting the photos for the contest, the contestant grants permission to PPKE ITK to store the photos in its archives without any time limit.
PPKE ITK accepts no responsibility for the originality of the photos submitted for the contest, their content, or the consequences of any errors or difficulties in telecommunication transmission. PPKE ITK reserves the right to modify the rules of the contest in justified cases, provided that the applicants are duly informed.
