International Project Week at Pázmány ITK!

2025.07.01.

Students and researchers from five European universities joined our Lab-on-a-Chip for Biomedical Use Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme last week.

The Blended Intensive Programme was held at the Biomicrofluidics Laboratory of the Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics, Pázmány Péter Catholic University. During the event, students from five European universities — PPKE (Hungary), TalTech (Estonia), PoliTO (Italy), Babeș-Bolyai University (Romania), and the University of Oradea (Romania) — came together to explore the full development process of microfluidic devices.

In the first, online phase of the program (June 16–20), participants had the opportunity to gain theoretical knowledge in the design of microfluidic systems, flow modeling (finite element simulations), and various manufacturing techniques (photolithography, stereolithography, laser machining, and 3D printing).

During the practical project week held in Budapest from June 23–27, students worked in international teams to design and fabricate their own prototypes in the cutting-edge laboratories of Pázmány ITK. The program placed strong emphasis on testing prototypes, measuring parameters, and validating the systems.

This one-week intensive collaboration provided not only a professional but also a cultural experience, laying a strong foundation for future international research and innovation partnerships.
