Ajtony lined up at the start of the longest distance, 29.45 kilometres, which involves running all the way around Lake Velence. He completed this demanding course in 1 hour, 59 minutes and 41 seconds, finishing in an impressive 10th place overall in the overall field. His performance is particularly remarkable as he secured first place in the 18-30 age group, thus becoming the age-group winner of the race.
The New Year’s Eve Champagne Run is a popular annual event featuring races for both children and adults, a variety of shorter and longer distances, as well as relay competitions. Runners crossing the finish line are traditionally welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine, adding a unique and celebratory New Year’s Eve character to the event.
This achievement was an excellent way to end the year and a clear demonstration of how dedication and preparation can lead to success at a national level. We warmly congratulate Ajtony Szauter on his outstanding performance.
