In May 2025, students from the Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics at Pázmány Péter Catholic University participated in the CASSINI #9 Hackathon in Innsbruck, Austria. The event focused on the intersection of space technology and healthcare.
Our researchers’ article has been published on the NPJ – Systems Biology and Applications page. The publication is titled "Enhancing yeast cell tracking with a time-symmetric deep learning approach" and was produced in partnership with IFOM, one of Europe's leading institutes on cancer research.
In the spring of 2023, His Holiness Pope Francis graced our community at Pázmány Péter Catholic University with his presence, delivering an address at our Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics. Between April 1–3, Dominik Belter from the Poznań University of Technology in Poland visited the Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics (ITK). During his stay, he honored us with two highly engaging lectures — one public and one specifically for ITK students.
Between March 28 and 30, 2025, Eger hosted the Hungarian Molecular Life Science Conference, which serves as the joint meeting of the Hungarian Biochemical Society (MBKE) and the Hungarian Genetics Society (MAGE). The event attracted more than 250 participants, including numerous representatives from the Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics at Pázmány Péter Catholic University.
Representatives of Pázmány Péter Catholic University took part in the Edu Fair education exhibition in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, organized by Begin Group.
Beside paying a visit to the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, they also had the possiblity to meet the local Catholic community and the representatives of the Embassy of Hungary.
