Yesterday, the mentors and international coordinators met at the Faculty to discuss the increasing influx of international students. Students will arrive for Orientation Week on Monday, September 1st, for a week of social events and activities, organised by the mentors. The meeting focused on how the mentors will ensure safety and stability for their mentees, as they adjust to Hungarian academic life.  

Three-day professional workshop hosted by Pázmány ITK

Last week, the Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics of Pázmány Péter Catholic University had the honour of receiving a distinguished delegation from the Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province, China, accompanied by a professor from Wuhan University.

Students and researchers from five European universities joined our Lab-on-a-Chip for Biomedical Use Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme last week. 

In May 2025, students from the Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics at Pázmány Péter Catholic University participated in the CASSINI #9 Hackathon in Innsbruck, Austria. The event focused on the intersection of space technology and healthcare.

Our researchers’ article has been published on the NPJ – Systems Biology and Applications page. The publication is titled "Enhancing yeast cell tracking with a time-symmetric deep learning approach" and was produced in partnership with IFOM, one of Europe's leading institutes on cancer research.

In the spring of 2023, His Holiness Pope Francis graced our community at Pázmány Péter Catholic University with his presence, delivering an address at our Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics. This encounter was far more than a ceremonial occasion — it marked the beginning of a spiritual legacy that continues to inspire our mission, shape our thinking, and enliven the spirit of our vocation. 

A recent article co-authored by researchers from Pázmány ITK has been published in PLOS Computational Biology, titled “Increased risk of slippage upon disengagement of the mitotic checkpoint.” 

Between April 1–3, Dominik Belter from the Poznań University of Technology in Poland visited the Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics (ITK). During his stay, he honored us with two highly engaging lectures — one public and one specifically for ITK students.
