The aim of the course is to overview the digital ASIC (application specific IC) design flow, highlighting the differences and similarities to FPGA based development. During the lectures, the design flow will be introduced in details with real examples. Besides the CAD tools and flow description, architectural solutions are also given, which can be used to build the complex integrated circuits (such as random logic, memory, multipliers, flash, basic and complex IP blocks for IO and core operation).
