Laboratory results form the basis of up to70% of clinical decision making. The ordering and evaluation of laboratoryresults has a strong impact on the standard of clinical care. Basic knowledge regarding most common factorsinfluencing the precision and accuracy of laboratory results is essential bothfor clinicians and for patients. The aim of the course is to provide generalinformation on these issues and to give basic milestones to be adhered when thestudents are planning studies applying laboratory methods.
