Description:
The goal of this course is to highlight important techniques, methods and results in signal processing, in biosignal processing and in cardiac signal analysis. The subject of this course will be discussed in weekly consultations on the following topics:
- Basics of signal processing (sampling, quantization, signal modelling, noise filtering (time, frequency, combined));
- Signal processing methods (event detection, wavelet decomposition, blind source separation, classification);
- Biomedical signals (properties of different modalities, diagnostical aspects – anomalies – abnormalities, general methods for each modality);
Electro- and phonocardiography (unique signal properties, usual recording hardware setup, recent literature solutions).
