The aim of the course is to recollect the basic algorithms and data structures as well as to give an insight into object-oriented programming in Python and some of the most important scientific libraries.
The course covers the following topics: Two-dimensional data representation and processing; Text processing, regular expressions; Recursivealgorithms; Problem of sorting and basic sorting algorithms (Heap sort, Quick sort, Mergesort, Bucket/Radixsort); Basic data structure (stack, queue, list, binary search tree (red-black), hashtables); Object-oriented programs in Python; Exception handling in Python; Scipylibrary basics; Numpy library basics.
Scheduled as a block course for the third module (3 weeks) of the preparatory semester of full-time international students.
